Sadly, it has been decided that we will not be holding a Summer Event in the Hall this year. This is for two reasons: the lack of available time among the Committee necessary to make the event a success and a recognition of the difficulty in attracting people to one amongst so many competing events and activities held during the Summer Holidays; we hope to take forward the idea of a community ‘bring-and-share food’ social event at another time – maybe during the Winter months.
In the meantime, we will be putting our efforts into ensuring that our exciting November event – a live Salsa band at the Hall! – is a rip-roaring success; see the home page for details.
The hall will be closed for two blocks in August: first we are having the main servery hatch enlarged as well as some external rendering repaired; in the second block the floor is to be repaired and re-varnished. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Here is a date for your Summer diary: Saturday 20th August. We have reserved the Hall for the afternoon and evening. It may be a traditional Summer Fête, like last year, or it may be a little different. If you are interested in helping arrange the event, or have any novel ideas, then do get in touch via ‘Friends of the Hall‘ page. Whatever shape the event takes, we look forward to seeing you there!
We are hosting a ‘Christmas Social’ on 20th Dec from 4 to 6pm. For details see the poster:
Let us know if you plan to come along (with no.s) via the form on the home page.
The Village Hall will host a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Wednesday September – from 10.00am until 1pm.
All are welcome.
Details to follow – but put this date in your diary! We will be hosting a Fête-Planning Meeting and Community Get-Together in early June; the first part of the evening will provide the opportunity for local people to become involved in organizing the fête, then this will open-up into a more general social evening, giving the opportunity for members of the community to meet some of the Hall Committee Members, as well their neighbours. Details to follow – and Old Liverton residents will be leafleted. To keep up to date with this – and all other Liverton Village Hall News – subscribe below to receive news blog posting via email.
